IT Committee

INTERTANKO’s  IT Committee aimed to provide an open forum for its members in order to develop better awareness of:

a)     IT opportunities / solutions

b)    IT needs of the tanker industry

Its objective was to contribute to improve efficiency and enhance safety standards by applying information technology within the independently owned tanker sector in particular and the tanker industry in general. Since the use of information technology has increased significantly and affects most aspects of the industry, it was felt that IT issues needed to be tackled directly and specifically for each application. A separate committee was therefore no longer useful.
